The National Intellectual Property Administration Launches New Initiatives to Support Patent Commercialization by Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)
Recently, the China National Intellectual Property Administration announced a series of new measures aimed at further promoting the patent transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises and improving their innovation ability and market competitiveness. This series of measures was formulated based on in-depth research on the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises, and targeted solutions to the many difficulties in the current patent conversion process.
In order to better promote the docking of patent supply and demand, the China National Intellectual Property Administration will build a national patent transformation service platform. This platform gathers patent resources from universities, research institutions, and various enterprises, and achieves precise matching between patents and enterprise needs through big data analysis technology. At the same time, the platform will also provide one-stop services such as patent evaluation, trading, and licensing, greatly simplifying the process of patent conversion. The relevant person in charge of the China National Intellectual Property Administration said: "This platform is like a 'patent supermarket', where SMEs can easily find patent technology suitable for their own development, and universities and scientific research institutions can also more efficiently push patents to the market."
In terms of financial support, the China National Intellectual Property Administration, together with several financial institutions, has set up a special patent transformation fund of 5 billion yuan. The fund is mainly used to support small and medium-sized enterprises in purchasing patented technologies, carrying out patent implementation and transformation projects, and rewarding enterprises that have performed outstandingly in patent transformation work. In addition, financing costs and risks for small and medium-sized enterprises will be reduced through methods such as loan interest subsidies and risk compensation. The person in charge of a small and medium-sized enterprise excitedly said, "This funding is a 'timely rain' for us, which can help us transform patented technology into actual productivity faster and enhance the innovation and development capabilities of the enterprise
Talent cultivation is also one of the key focuses of this initiative. The China National Intellectual Property Administration plans to carry out large-scale patent transformation training activities to train a group of professionals who understand patents and can transform for SMEs. The training content covers multiple aspects such as basic patent knowledge, patent operation strategies, and patent legal risk prevention, and will adopt a combination of online and offline methods to facilitate more enterprises to participate. At the same time, a team of experts will be organized to go deep into the enterprise and provide one-on-one guidance services. Through these measures, the patent conversion capability and level of small and medium-sized enterprises will be effectively enhanced, injecting new vitality into their innovative development.
