The "Multimodal Rehabilitation Training System for Special Children" developed by a technology company specializing in special education has shown significant effectiveness in intervening in children with autism. However, when applying for the Education Industry Science and Technology Award, it faces problems such as insufficient technological innovation demonstration and weak clinical application data support. The system uses multimodal technologies such as voice interaction and tactile feedback to help children with autism improve their social communication skills, with an intervention effectiveness rate of 72%. However, the company only briefly described the system's functions in the award materials, did not elaborate on the technological breakthroughs, and lacked intellectual property layout to prove its innovative value. Therefore, the first application did not win the award.
After our intervention, we first conducted in-depth exploration of the core technology of the system and extracted three major innovative breakthroughs: firstly, we developed an emotion recognition algorithm based on the fusion of facial expressions and speech, with a recognition accuracy of 91%, which solves the problem of emotional perception for special needs children; The second is to design an adaptive training program generation engine that dynamically adjusts training content based on children's progress, shortening the intervention period by 30%; The third is to develop a home school collaborative training module to achieve continuous tracking of rehabilitation effects and improve training continuity by 50%. In response to these innovative points, we have assisted enterprises in compiling 18 intellectual property certificates, including 9 invention patents, 6 software copyrights, and 3 rehabilitation training method standards, forming a complete intellectual property protection chain.
In terms of constructing the evidence chain for the transformation of achievements, we guided enterprises to collaborate with 8 special education schools to conduct a controlled experiment, collect intervention data from 300 children with autism, and present the improvement effect of the system on social skills, language expression, and other dimensions through quantitative analysis. We also compiled 25 supporting materials, including school usage reports and parental feedback. At the same time, optimize the structure of award materials, highlight how technological innovation can solve pain points in the special education industry, and strengthen the social value of achievements.
After system optimization, the project successfully won the first prize for scientific and technological progress in the education industry in the second application. After winning the award, the system was included in the National Special Education Equipment Recommendation Catalog, and received 8 million yuan in special funds for the development of the disability cause. It was promoted and applied in 150 special education schools across the country, and the company's annual sales increased by 12 million yuan. The intellectual property layout also helps enterprises establish cooperation with three medical institutions, promoting the extension of technology to the field of medical rehabilitation.
