A company focused on the development of personalized learning software for vocational education has made a breakthrough in the development of an "adaptive learning system based on knowledge graph", but faces problems such as scattered patent layout and a disconnect between academic achievements and educational practice. The system utilizes knowledge graph construction and learning path planning algorithms to achieve precise delivery of learning content, with a 40% increase in training qualification rate and a 25% reduction in learning duration. However, the R&D team has only applied for three software copyrights and has not formed a system patent protection. The core knowledge node association algorithm and learning effect evaluation model face the risk of being borrowed; Simultaneously published papers focus on technical descriptions and lack educational empirical data, making it difficult to gain recognition from vocational colleges.
We conducted in-depth technology exploration in enterprise R&D centers and partner universities. Through in-depth interviews with algorithm engineers and vocational education experts, we identified 13 core innovation points, including domain knowledge graph construction methods, personalized path planning algorithms, and multi-dimensional effect evaluation models. In response to the issue of patent layout, a full chain patent strategy of "core algorithm+functional module+educational application" has been formulated to assist enterprises in completing 26 patent applications, including 19 invention patents forming a tight protection network, especially the patent of "a vocational education knowledge graph construction method based on capability dimension", covering key technical nodes and building core technical barriers.
In terms of improving academic papers, we guided the R&D team to collaborate with vocational colleges to conduct teaching experiments, expand the sample size to 5000 students, and write 7 academic papers on topics such as "the application effect of the system in CNC technology, e-commerce and other majors" and "research on the adaptability of different learning styles". By standardizing experimental design and data presentation, the educational application value of technology is highlighted, with 5 papers included in Vocational and Technical Education and 2 papers published in the International Journal of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning. The papers cite authorized patents of enterprises as the technical basis, enhancing the credibility and innovation of research.
After one year of project implementation, the company's patent portfolio coverage reached 96%, successfully handling two software infringement disputes and safeguarding market rights. Academic papers have been cited 280 times, and companies have been invited to participate in the development of the industry standard for "Technical Specifications for Digital Learning Systems in Vocational Education". The technology has been recommended for use by the education department, and cooperation has been established with 80 vocational colleges. The annual sales revenue exceeds 230 million yuan, making it a technology leader in the field of vocational education informatization.
